Daisy Gómez supports families of pediatric cancer patients in the Division of Pediatric Psychosocial Services at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. She works with these clients to provide supportive interventions focused on alleviating socio-economic stressors that frequently impact families of children with cancer. She is active with the Dana-Farber’s employee resource groups and also serves on the board of its Multicultural Professional Network.
Daisy moved from New York to Boston to serve as an AmeriCorps Volunteer In Service To America with Mayor Menino’s ReadBoston Family Literacy Project. In 2006, she was elected to the Advisory Council of Onein3Boston which led to her involvement with the Steering Committee for Mass INC’s Real Talk.
Daisy currently balances her work commitments and dedication to civic engagement while pursuing a Management degree from the Extension School at Harvard. She received a Bachelor’s in Sociology with a concentration in Public Relations from the State University of New York at Geneseo. She looks forward to helping the Associate Board stimulate civic discussion, especially across the young people of the Commonwealth.
