MassINC Welcomes Three Distinguished Leaders to the Board of Directors Board of Directors

MassINC is pleased to announce the appointment of three exceptional new members to its Board of Directors: Kim Gainsboro Brooks, Mary Jo Meisner, and Dr. Amie Shei, Ph.D. These dynamic leaders bring a wealth of expertise spanning finance, public health, journalism, and civic engagement, strengthening MassINC’s mission to foster inclusive economic growth and vibrant communities across Massachusetts.

Kim Gainsboro Brooks serves as Senior Vice President at M&T Bank, where she leverages extensive experience in both the public and private sectors. Before joining M&T Bank, Kim dedicated 13 years to public service at the Office of the State Treasurer, first as Chair of the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission and later as Deputy Treasurer overseeing the Unclaimed Property Division.

Mary Jo Meisner, Principal at MJM Advisory Services, is a long-time ally and partner of MassINC, most notably during her tenure as Vice President for Communications at the Boston Foundation. With over two decades of experience as a journalist—including roles at the Washington Post and Milwaukee Journal Sentinel—Mary Jo is a respected civic leader whose deep connections across philanthropy, media, and business will be invaluable to MassINC’s work.

Dr. Amie Shei, Ph.D. is President and CEO of the Central Mass Health Foundation, a role she has held for the past eight years. With a distinguished career in public health and a Ph.D. in Health Policy from Harvard University, Amie was recently honored as the 2025 USA Today Woman of the Year for Massachusetts. Her dedication to improving health equity and strengthening communities aligns closely with MassINC’s values and mission.

“We’re thrilled to welcome Kim, Amie, and Mary Jo to the Board,” said MassINC CEO Joe Kriesberg. “Their diverse expertise and shared commitment to civic dialogue and inclusive growth will help guide MassINC as we take on the challenges and opportunities that lie ahead.”
