Beth Lindstrom
Business Owner, Former U.S. Senate Candidate
Beth’s professional experience spans the verticals of politics, government, entrepreneurship, and business ownership. Her Board committee experience has included, development and fundraising, finance, governance, and strategic planning.
Ms. Lindstrom spent seven years at the Massachusetts State Lottery serving first as Assistant Executive Director, and then as the first female Executive Director. During her tenure, the Massachusetts Lottery was recognized as the most successful lottery in the world.
Ms. Lindstrom served as a Cabinet Member under Governor Mitt Romney. As Secretary of Consumer Affairs and Business Regulation, Ms. Lindstrom oversaw seven state agencies including the Department of Banks, Insurance, Telecommunications and Energy, the Divisions of Professional Licensure, Energy Resources, Standards, and the State Racing Commission. Through these agencies and other areas under her control, Ms. Lindstrom was responsible for over $60 million in operating budgets and the oversight of agencies that generated $90 million in regulatory revenue to the State.
Ms. Lindstrom’s other political experience includes the state-wide 2014 Election where Beth was the public face of Commonwealth Future, an Independent Political Action Committee that supported the successful Baker for Governor Campaign in Massachusetts. Her most notable political experience was serving as Campaign Manager for Scott Brown for U. S. Senate during his first campaign and special election that stunned the State as well as the country. Most recently, Ms. Lindstrom ran for the U. S. Senate in the 2018 elections.
Beth has always had an entrepreneurial spirit. Possessing well-honed strategic thinking skills, she was involved in early stage startup companies beginning in “the dot.com boom” of the late 1990’s and into 2000. Beth was the CEO of FreeStateLotto, an online marketing company. Beth was the Founder of a startup online interior company, Mantelscapes.com and was Vice President of Ping4, a geo location mobile app company, where she led the Business Development arm. She has been a Consultant and Advisor for other young startup companies and has had the opportunity to work with entrepreneurs, financiers, and innovators seeing the creative process in action. Currently she is advising Gentreo.com and BioInsite.com.
Ms. Lindstrom has 20 years’ experience in Board and Board Committee experience. She was a member of the Board of Directors at Applewild School in Fitchburg for 8 years and was Treasurer for 7 of those years. She was a member of the Board of Visitors for Northeastern University for 3 years. Having served on many academic boards and board committees, she also served in the capacity of Massachusetts State Lottery Commissioner, which is the oversight board for Massachusetts Lottery, a multi-billion dollar state agency.
