Zayna Basma Research Associate, The MassINC Polling Group
Zayna Basma is a research associate for the MassINC Polling Group. Her research interests are at the intersection of education and immigration policy. Zayna joined the MassINC Polling Group after completing her Master of Business Administration and Master of Public Policy Degrees from the Heller School at Brandeis University.
Previously, Zayna was Graduate Intern at the Systems for Student Success Office of the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. In the summer of 2020, she completed her Segal Fellowship with MassINC, where she worked on a digital divide report. She received her B.A. in Political Science from UMass Lowell where she worked on research related to the media coverage and educational experiences of refugees in the United States. She also interned for Senator Elizabeth Warren and State Senator Jennifer Flanagan. Zayna serves as a board member of the F.W. Parker Charter Essential School in Devens, her alma mater.
