Early College Performance in Massachusetts
Massachusetts is closing equity gaps by growing Early College programs
A recent study from Brown University found black and Latinx students in Massachusetts are approximately 20 percentage points less likely to complete college degrees than white students with the same MCAS scores.
New data on Early College proves this is a model that will close these yawning equity gaps. Nearly half of students participating in the state’s designated Early College programs are Latinx and close to one in five are black; 45% come from low-income families.
