Carter Howe Research Intern, MassINC

Carter is an intern working with the Gateway Cities Initiative to evaluate MassDevelopment’s Transformative Development Initiative, which seeks to create thriving downtowns in Gateway Cities. In the past, he has volunteered for campaigns at the local, state, and national levels.

A rising sophomore at Grinnell College, he is planning to major in political science with a Spanish concentration. At Grinnell, he has worked covering Iowa politics, environmental issues, and other local news for the Scarlet & Black, Grinnell College’s student newspaper. He is also part of an improv comedy troupe on campus.

Originally from the Boston area, Carter is happy to be back home for the summer, researching how smart planning and development can improve the lives of residents of the Commonwealth.
