Senior Research Director, The MassINC Polling Group

The Senior Research Director is an ideal position for an experienced survey researcher ready to manage projects and teams across all phases of quantitative and qualitative research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Polling and focus groups: Develop and oversee the execution of quantitative and qualitative research processes. Create survey questionnaires to meet client objectives. Write detailed reports and analyses, transforming complex data into clear, compelling narratives.
  • Management tasks: Manage teams of analysts in project execution from initial client interaction through the final report delivery. Perform administrative duties as required.
  • Client interaction: Serve as the primary client contact on key projects. Plan and lead key meetings. Ensure client priorities are met.
  • Data analysis and processing: Use SPSS and Excel to analyze and process data accurately to generate written products for clients.
  • Analysis: Digest and summarize complex datasets for a variety of written products, including state and national media pieces, client briefings, press releases, memoranda, and full-length reports.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in public opinion research: At least 5 years of experience in public opinion research.
  • Proficiency in statistical concepts: Strong ability to use SPSS or similar statistical packages such as R or Stata.
  • Analysis and writing skills: Exceptional ability to summarize complex political and policy concepts in writing.
  • Knowledge of Massachusetts political and policy environment: While we serve a national client base, a large amount of our work is in Massachusetts where we are headquartered. Familiarity with local political and policy issues is preferred
